08 Zeke Had a trip yesterday for brown out

June 17/08 Hello everyone . after today I'm hoping to keep up withe the catch of the day with pictures and what going on here, the salmon river and lake ontario. As of yesterday and the day before, the guys did fairly well on the lake, a few browns, nothing to special nice fish, Harry said some small ones, but all the rest were nice size browns. I will get back with some pics of some nice browns, that Dave caught later on today Over and out Bart.
6/8/08 - Another great weekend in upstate NY. On Saturday we had the 2nd annual Walleye tournament. It was all about being in the right spot. It was Hot Hot Hot! Most people got into Walleye at some point during the day. Our activity came right at the end of the day but we did get into the Walleye and Bass! Scott and his bout got the biggest fish and came in first for the biggest 6, Chris M. came in second and Tom came in 3rd. Congratulations to everyone! On Saturday Dave and son Justin and friend Bill went out with me on a 6 hour Brown trip. We got a limit of fish in just over 4 hours. All of the fish were nice size. We spent the end of the trip looking for Kings and hit one for a short time before it shook off. 5/30/08 - This is Brown Trout fishing! Mark and I had Josh, Justin and Lucas out with us on a trip today and it was non-stop action from the go! We landed around 30 fish and lost a bunch more. We trolled north and never had to make a turn. We had several doubles and triples and enjoyed another quintuple! A great group of guys and a great day fishing! 5/26/08 - WE FOUND THEM! After working hard on Sunday to find fish with Andy and the gang (we managed to land three Browns and fortunately they were really nice fish) and working hard to land a few fish Monday AM, we went in serious search mode. At around noon I got the call that Zeke had found them. We pulled lines and headed 15 MILES to the spot. By the time we got there Zeke was pulling lines and heading home with his limit. Jim set lines and bang, three fish on! We landed one set the rods and bang five fish on!!! What wonderful confusion. Everybody had a fish and I was holding a rod while Jim was netting. I could not tell you how many fish we had on and lost, but we had our limit in less then an hour. That will be an hour that Dave, Jamie, Justin and Matt never forget! On Oneida, our guys did ok but they had to work hard as well. Greg and the boys worked hard hard but ended up with 8 nice keepers each day plus some perch, bass, and shorts. .
June 1st The browns are being cought in big #'s out in the lake.and in big size. Dave and zeke both did well and beyond what other guys did today. Hope I can put just the twoof the pics I took Of the 14 lb 27" brown from dave tripand a few others. hope zeke took pics of his. look for some feed back on the forum.
MAY 23 Chuck and I took a ride to Oneida lake last night ,arrived there around 7pm, it was very windy , but slowed up around 8:30 . We weren't doing so well, until bob arrived and started fishing the other side of the canal , the lake side were the water was rought . 2 cast 2 fish ! Luck. No, he been there many time before, I just didn't know that was the side to be throwing on. He was useing little 1/4 oz jigs. I took two cast from that side and had a fish also. Chuck 0 yet. as the night went on, it was slow. I changed to a Husky lure, first cast, nice walleye! Started to rain about 10pm so we decided to leave. It was fun, first time for chuck walleye fishing . I fillet it up for him to try and I am sure, he will be stuck on these fish, once he eat it today.

Notes from Walleye opener: Sat and Sunday.
My fish in the above picture came in 9th place caught in Oneida lake. The Cicero :Mattydale Lions Club, held their 30th annual walleye tournament on Sat and Sun. They said their were over 1500 entries in the tournament. Conditions were gloomy on Sat.. windy, rough and rainy, but Capt. Harry and I did business as usual knocking the scales off them as usual. It started off slow and then around 8 am things picked up. I landed the 24 1/2 " one . Our fish averaged about 18 to 19" then it just slowed right up around noonish and we headed in and called it a good day. Weighed the fish in at Marion Manor, got my ticket and headed for home with the biggest walleye I ever caught. I filleted bigger ones at the lodge over the years from some of the Guides who brought me fish to clean, but they were from Lake Ontario. These Walleye from Oneida are the best eating fish you can find any where in the country,as far as I'm concerned and many people will tell you the same. Today I went with another friend of mine, Robbie Sherwood from Rochester Ny. We started a little earlier today Sunday. Again, slow at the start, not as much wind as Sat., but some light rain and a lot calmer water. The bite was slow and even slower as the morning progressed. Only ended up with a total of 4 fish landed for the day. We headed home around noon and the wind picked right up as we were leaving. Other guys told us they drilled them in different parts of the lake afer we left. I'm going out with Chris tomorrow. We'll see how we do. Hope to post some nice pics tomorrow. That's it for tonight . Over and out BART.

Hello Guys, Its been a while, even a few years since I put anything on the web, But I'm BACK. Im going to to try to keep up to date of what is going on here on the Salmon river and surrounding areas of Fishing. As you know Steelhead season is winding down as far as the cold weather is concerned. But let me tell you it is far from OVER with fish falling back to the lake. .
For anybody who really wants to experience the thrill of catching BIG STEELIES, get on board at the SRO and one of the Guides who work with Harry will give you a trip you will never forget. Try to look at the notes on the day as we go into Walleye season this Saturday and lake fishing with browns in Lake Ontario and then right into Salmon during the weeks to come. I'd like to say more, but there are many more days to come. Over and out. Bart
